What is HTET?

HTET or Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Haryana (BSEH), is an eligibility test for teachers. HTET Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test is held for different levels of teacher recruitment such as Primary Teacher (PRT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in schools run by Haryana State Government. HTET Eligibility Criteria

To become eligible to apply for HTET 2021, candidates must possess the following eligibility criteria:

Educational qualification:

  • Primary Teacher (Level 1 – Class 1 to 5): 12th pass along with Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed)
  • Trained Graduate Teacher (Level 2 – Class 6 to 8): Bachelor’s Degree along with B.Ed
  • Post Graduate Teacher (Level 3 – Above Class 8): Master’s Degree along with B.Ed

Age: Candidates from 18 years to 38 years of age can apply for HTET Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test 2021.

HTET Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teacher

Candidates must have one of the following set of educational qualifications to apply for HTET Primary Teacher:

  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent along with the 50% marks of the two-years Diploma in Elementary Education.

Or

  • Senior Secondary or any equivalent along with 45% or above marks of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Senior Secondary or any equivalent with 50% or above marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the 4 -year B.El.Ed course.
  • Senior Secondary or equivalent along with the 50% or above marks and has already completed or appeared in the final semester of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*
  • Completed Graduation or appearing in the final year of a 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Passed Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or completed Senior Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi.

HTET Eligibility Criteria for Trained Graduate Teacher

Candidates must have one of the following set of educational qualifications to apply for HTET Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) 2021:

  • Completed Graduation in the applicable stream and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Passed Graduation in the applicable stream with at least 50% and completed or pursuing 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Graduation in the appropriate stream with 45% or above marks and completed or pursuing 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Passed Senior Secondary or any equivalent along with 50% or above marks and completed or pursuing the final semester of the 4- year B.El.Ed or Bachelor in Elementary Education.
  • Senior Secondary or any equivalent with 50% or above marks and completed or appearing in the last year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  • Graduation in relevant discipline with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

HTET Eligibility for Post Graduate Teacher

HTET 2021 Selection Process

HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) selection process involves the stages mentioned below:

HTET online application: candidates willing to apply for HTET need to apply for the exam online. Candidates can select the levels as per their preference and eligibility.

HTET admit card: HTET admit card will be released one week before the exam. Admit card for level 1, 2 and 3 will be released separately on the official website of HTET exam.

HTET written test: HTET written exam will have three papers, Paper – I, Paper- II and Paper – III. HTET Exam Pattern 2021

HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) exam syllabus has been release by BSEH in the official notification of HTET. HTET syllabus for Level 1, 2 and 3 is different. The application form for HTET 2021 is expected to start in the month of December 2021 on the official website. On the other hand, the application process for HTET 2020 has been closed.

HTET Application Form: Registration Part-I

  1. Visit the official website of HTET Exam – www.bseh.org.in
  2. Click on the “HTET 2021 application form” link on the home page
  3. Before you fill in all the information, read all the instructions.
  4. Then fill in the mandatory fields such as the full name of the candidate, parents’ name, religion, gender, date of birth, a valid mobile number and email ID, communication and permanent address, and educational details etc.
  5. Click on save and then click on the “submit” button. A provisional User ID & registration number will be mailed to the registered email address.

HTET Application HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) exam Form: Registration Part-II

  1. In stage 2 of the application process, a recent passport size colour photograph and a scanned copy of the signature and thumb impression of the applicant must be submitted as per the specifications.
  2. Candidates must pay the application fee to complete the registration process
  3. After the payment is done, take a printout of the completed application form of HTET 2021.

HTET Admit Card

The HTET admit card for the exam will tentatively be released in January 2021 by the Board of Secondary Education- Haryana on the official website. The authorities do not send the HTET admit card via posts. All applied candidates must download the admit card by entering the log-in credentials.

Once the HTET admit card is released by the authorities on the official website, candidates will be able to download it. Candidates must carry the admit card along with valid proof such as Pan Card, Aadhaar Card, or Driving License.

Along with the declaration of the result, the HTET certificate has also been issued online. On the other hand, HTET Answer Key 2020-21 has been released for Level 1, 2, 3 on January 04, 2021.

Candidates must remember that the weightage of the written exam is 80% and the personal interview carries around 20% weightage in case of recruitment.

HTET Cutoff

The HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) exam Cutoff is the same for all levels of the exam. The appeared candidates who have managed to secure the cutoff marks receive the HTET certificate. However, there are relaxations for the reserved categories which is mentioned below:

HTET Certificate

Validity of HTET Certificate

After the qualification of the exam, the candidate who secures the cutoff marks or above receives the HTET Certificate. The HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) exam qualified certificate will have lifetime validity which earlier used to be valid for 7 years only.

The salary of the HTET differs based on the posts and exam levels. The gross salary of a Primary Teacher is Rs. 35400-112400/-, and the salary of TGT (Level 2) is Rs. 47600-151100/- while the teachers appointed for the posts of PGTs receive approx Rs. 44900-142400/- per month.

HTET Exam Pattern

HTET Exam Pattern changes depending on the level of the exam. There are a total of 150 questions for all three levels. The duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes. Here are the key points of the exam pattern:

Subject-Wise Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) 2021 exam must meet the eligibility conditions delineated by the Board. The eligibility criteria of HTET 2021 comprises the following –

  1. Level – 1 for becoming Teacher for Classes I to V: Primary Teacher (PRT)

  • The candidates must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks
  • Appearing or passed in the final year of two-year Diploma or 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE Regulations
  1. Level – 2 for becoming Teacher for Classes VI to VIII: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)

TGT Social Studies –

  • Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Commerce and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Or, Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Commerce with at least 50% marks and one-year B.Ed

TGT Science –

  • Bachelor of Science and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Or, Bachelor of Science with at least 50% marks and one-year B.Ed in accordance with the NCTE

TGT Mathematics –

  • The candidates should have passed Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Commerce with minimum 50% marks in Mathematics (elective subject) and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE
  • If done Bachelor of Education, they should have Mathematics as a teaching subject

TGT English –

  • Bachelor of Arts with 50% marks in English (elective subject) and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE
  • If done Bachelor of Education, they should have English as a teaching subject

TGT Hindi –

  • Bachelor of Arts with 50% marks in Hindi (elective subject) and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE
  • If done Bachelor of Education, they should have Hindi as a teaching subject

TGT Sanskrit –

  • Bachelor of Arts with 50% marks in Sanskrit (elective subject) and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE

TGT Punjabi –

TGT Home Science –

  • Should have done Bachelor of Science with Home Science and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Or, Bachelor of Science with Home Science (50% marks) and 1-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE
  • Bachelor of Arts with 50% marks in Home Science as one of the elective subjects
  • If done Bachelor of Education, they should have Home Science as a teaching subject

TGT Art –

  • Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Fine Arts and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Fine Arts with at least 50% marks and one-year B.Ed in accordance with the NCTE
  • Bachelor of Arts with 50% marks in Fine Art as one of the elective subjects
  • If done Bachelor of Education, they should have Fine Art as a teaching subject

TGT Music –

  • Bachelor of Arts and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Bachelor of Arts with at least 50% marks and one-year B.Ed in accordance with the NCTE
  • Bachelor of Arts Music (vocal/ instrumental) with 50% marks in Music as one of the elective subjects
  • If done Bachelor of Education, they should have Music as a teaching subject
  1. Level – 3 for Postgraduate Teacher (PGT)

Candidates applying for these subjects (English, Home Science, Punjabi, History, Urdu, Hindi, Sociology, Geography and Psychology) should have done –

  • A PG Degree in the particular subject (50% marks) and Bachelor of Education from a recognised university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or PG/ Graduation/ Senior Secondary with Hindi as one of the subjects

For Political Science –

  • Should have done M.A. in Political Science or in Public Administration with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education from a recognised university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or 10+2/ M.A./ B.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Sanskrit –

  • Should have done M.A. in Sanskrit/ Acharya with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education/ L.T.C. (Language Teachers Course)/ Shiksha Shastri/ Oriental Training (O.T.) in Sanskrit  from a recognised university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or 10+2/ M.A./ B.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects

  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or PG/ Graduation/ Senior Secondary with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Physics –

  • M.Sc. Physics/ Nuclear Physics/ Electronics Physics / Applied Physics with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education from a recognized university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or PG/ Graduation/ Senior Secondary with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Chemistry –

  • M.Sc. Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education from a recognized university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or PG/ Graduation/ Senior Secondary with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Mathematics –

  • M.Sc./ M.A. Math/ Applied Mathematics with Mathematics as a subject at Graduation level with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education from a recognized university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or PG/ Graduation/ Senior Secondary with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Commerce –

  • Master of Commerce with financial accounting/ cost accounting/ accounting as a major subject with a minimum of 50% marks and Bachelor of Education from a recognized university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or PG/ Graduation/ Senior Secondary with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Economics –

  • Master of Arts Economics/ Business Economics/ Applied Economics with a minimum of 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education from a recognized university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or PG/ Graduation/ Senior Secondary with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Music –

  • Masters of Arts in Music with 50% marks and Bachelor of Education from a recognised university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or 10+2/ M.A./ B.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Fine Arts –

  • Masters of Arts in Fine Arts with 50% marks and Bachelor of Education from a recognised university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or 10+2/ M.A./ B.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Computer Science –

  • M.Sc. Computer Science (Regular two-year course)/ BE/ B.Tech. Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ MCA (Regular three-year course)/ IT (Regular course) with at least 55% from a recognised university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or 10+2/ M.A./ B.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects

For PGT Physical Education –

  • Masters of Arts in Physical Education or M.P.Ed. with 50% aggregate marks and Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) or Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or its equivalent from a recognised university
  • Matriculation with Sanskrit/ Hindi or 10+2/ M.A./ B.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects

HTET Exam 2021 Application Process

The Haryana Board of School Education will invite the application for HTET 2021 examination through online mode. The application process will start in the second week of April 2021. The HTET HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) exam application process 2021 will be done in 4 steps – (1) Access Application Form, (2) Upload Scanned Images, (3) Fee Payment, and (4) Confirmation Page. Before proceeding ahead with the application, candidates must read the “Information Bulletin of HTET-2021”. They should access the HTET authorised website to submit the application form online.

  • Access the online application form through the HTET website.
  • Provide details (Personal details, educational details, contact details, qualification details, etc.)
  • Upload the scanned images of the photograph (20 kb to 50 kb), signature (10 kb to 20 kb) and thumb impression (10 kb to 30 kb)
  • Make the application fee payment
  • Submit the application after reviewing
